Your role
- Complete structural analysis, design, and detailing of building structural elements
- Complete design and preparation of contract documents and reports
- Prepare engineering calculations, sketches, drawings, and specifications
- Interpret architectural and engineering drawings and coordinate structural requirements with the project team
- Apply engineering principles, building codes, standards, and construction practices to project work
- Meet project timelines and milestones while following company procedures and protocols
- Work both independently and collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other project team members
- Other related functions
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a specialization in Structural Engineering or a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset
- 1-3 years of structural engineering work experience
- Basic understanding of structural materials, detailing, construction practices, and applicable codes, acts, and regulations
- Knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, S-FRAME, or similar tools is an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Programming experience or knowledge of programming languages is an asset
- Ability to understand and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a collaborative team environment
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet project requirements and timelines
- Strong problem-solving skills with a professional and ethical approach
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, collaborators, clients, and stakeholders
- Working towards obtaining a Professional Engineer designation
- French and English language abilities are an asset
- Security clearance required; new employees must work towards obtaining PSC Secret Level 2 clearance, with potential future requirements for higher levels of clearance

- Yearly salary: $70,000–$75,000 depending on experience
- Vacation: 10 days per year, or 15 days per year for individuals with more than 3 years of comparable experience
